Dear
Colleague,
on behalf of the International Society of Dermatopathology, the European Society
of Dermatopathology, the Italian Society of Dermatology and Venereology, and
the Dermatopathology Section of the Italian Society of Dermatology, I am pleased
to invite you to participate in the 22nd Symposium of
the International Society of Dermatopathology, to be held in Stresa, Italy,
from October 4th to 6th, 2001.
The focus of our three days together will be on the intriguing subjects of inflammatory diseases of the skin. Special attention will be given to newly described inflammatory disorders, clinico-pathological correlation, and to integration of the many morphologic expressions of a single disease. The theme of the Symposium will be devoted to inflammatory diseases that may simulate neoplastic diseases and vice-versa. Clinical, histopathological, and molecular biological aspects will be included for the purpose of demonstrating that the conventional microscope is still the link between the patient and advances in basic science research.
Special lectures on novel and highly thought-provoking themes surely will bring freshness to the Symposium. Time also will be devoted to matters of educational value for trainees in dermatology, pathology, and dermatopathology.
Stresa, one of the most beautiful resorts in northern Italy, is situated on Lake Maggiore, not far from Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate International Airports. In early autumn, the weather is sunny and mild, and this makes Stresa particularly pleasant.
The Stresa Convention Centre is situated near the historical route of Simplon,
and very grand Grand Hotels, that were frequented by the belle époque
society of the Orient Express and Ernest Hemingway. Stresa, with its mountains
and gardens that reflect in the waters of Lake Maggiore, will be a spectacular
venue for 22nd Symposium of our Society of Dermatopathology.
See you soon in Stresa.
